The Way We Work With You
From your initial evaluation to discharge, the goal of the inpatient rehabilitation program is to return you to independent living through the replication or "practice" of your daily activities. After receiving a one-on-one, task-oriented evaluation, our team will work collaboratively to identify your immediate challenges by first understanding your typical daily tasks and capabilities prior to your injury or illness.
Your rehabilitation plan will include a combination of techniques, including balance-retraining, range of motion, strength training and education. Although each person has unique and personal recovery goals, our overarching aim is to help you regain your ability to take care of yourself.
Your Therapy Environment
Swedish Covenant Hospital provides state-of-the-art equipment in a comfortable, personable setting. Our therapists employ many mobile therapeutic tools such as SoloStep, a treadmill with a body weight support harness, Tilt-Tables, Hoyer Lifts, Thera-Bands, Theraputty and resistive sponges. Each rehabilitation floor is also fitted with 20-foot markers to encourage you to measure your own progress. There is also a quiet, private area for patients and therapists to work on speech therapy. In addition to these tools, the inpatient rehabilitation unit offers patients our Activities of Daily Living (ADL) apartment which is used to evaluate your readiness for independent living.
Swedish Covenant Hospital's inpatient acute rehabilitation unit allows for a variety of ways to help you gain confidence in your own capabilities and find the positive view of your future through in incorporation of multiple disciplines and activity groups such as recreational therapy, art therapy, canine therapy and horticulture groups to help assist you in finding the fun out of rehab.
