Emergency Department Renovation 

Swedish Covenant Hospital is excited to announce plans for an Emergency Department renovation to further enhance service to the community by improving the operational efficiency, flexibility and throughput of the department.

Phase Three of Emergency Department Renovation Complete 

Phase Three of our ED renovation is now complete, enabling us to further enhance service to the community by improving the operational efficiency, flexibility and throughput of the ED. This phase includes the completion of two acute care rooms, six quick care rooms, a doctors' station for Pod C, a new quick care nurses station, three triage rooms, an EKG room, a utility room, three bathrooms,lactation room, five emergency department offices, an internal waiting room, triage waiting area, supply room, lab area, two med rooms and a registration area.
 
The new spaces are now open. With the completion of the third of four phases, we continue to make great progress towards our goal of being better positioned to meet the needs of our patients, physicians and clinical staff.

Phase Four construction begins now, with the entire project expected to be completed in December, 2018.

Improvements to the Emergency Department Will Include

  • Modernizing approximately 16,755 square feet of existing facilities
  • Increasing from 37 to 43 ED rooms:
    • Pre-renovation:
      • 26 Acute care rooms
      • 4 Behavioral health rooms
      • 5 Quick Care rooms
      • 2 Triage rooms
    • After renovation:
      • 27  Acute care rooms
      • 4 Behavioral health rooms
      • 8 Quick Care rooms
      • 4 Triage rooms
      • S.A.N.E. room with shower and conference area
      • LSSI Project Impact Office
      • Creating a specialized behavioral health unit
