Patient Returns to Active Lifestyle After Minimally Invasive Surgery with Dr. Laich
Marc, an Old Town resident, is pleased to return to an active lifestyle after minimally invasive surgery put an end to his debilitating back pain.
An active 75-years-young practicing attorney, Marc was diagnosed with
spinal stenosis after suffering from severe back pain and numbness in his legs. After unsuccessful chiropractic and massage treatments, his chiropractor suggested he make an appointment with
Dr. Daniel T. Laich, who had performed a successful surgery on his wife.
Marc booked an appointment to see Dr. Laich, a neurological surgeon at Swedish Hospital’s
Chicago Brain & Spine Institute. Dr. Laich spent time to learn about his issues and determine a course of action, leaving Marc extremely pleased with his initial visit.
“I can go to any doctor I choose, so I began researching the best surgeons in the city,” said Marc. “I was impressed with the expertise and care provided by Dr. Laich at the Chicago Brain & Spine Institute.”
Following the initial consultation and several tests, Dr. Laich suggested a minimally-invasive laminectomy procedure that would help alleviate Marc’s pain and enable him to return to his very active lifestyle.
“I was not able to do the hiking and walking with my wife and children before, and I look forward to being able to do that again,” said Marc, who is doing rehabilitation following his successful procedure.
Marc is very happy that the pain and numbness have been alleviated so he can continue to enjoy his active lifestyle. He is working his way back to his former fitness routine, which includes swimming, Pilates, recumbent bike and spin classes, weight training, treadmill and elliptical workouts and sessions with a personal trainer.
“I’m very satisfied with my results and have been recommending Dr. Laich and his team to anyone who has back issues,” added Marc. “He spends time with you to explain the options and answer questions, plus he has the expertise to perform the minimally-invasive surgery that delivered the results I was looking for.”
