Don’t put this off! It’s the first step to a healthier lifestyle. Just be careful not to overcommit or promise yourself too much. This is a process, and it takes time.
Fuel Your Brain With Quality Carbohydrates
Your body benefits from the energy in healthy carbohydrates from fruit, vegetables and whole grains. As a bonus, add beneficial fats from nuts, seeds, fish and avocado for a power-packed snack or meal.
And avoid sugary drinks. Having trouble remembering to stay hydrated? Keep a reusable water bottle with you. We recommend one made of metal or glass.
Make Physical Activity a Habit
Choose activities that you enjoy and do them regularly to help your mind and body adjust to the idea that they are now a part of your daily habit.
You may spend most of your day seated at your desk, but be creative in finding ways to get moving while at work. Try a standing desk, pace during conference calls or take a short walk at lunchtime.
Having a positive mental attitude could be the difference between success and failure. Don’t let a bump in the road get you down. Keep your goals top of mind and move forward, taking each set back as a lesson.
Make Time for Sleep
Your rest is just as important as anything else. Aim for 7 to 9 hours every night. To ensure that you are achieving quality sleep, turn off your screens before you get into bed. Try meditating, listening to music or reading a book to quiet the mind and prepare the body.
