How to Schedule a Test


To start your COVID-19 screening, call 773-907-7700.

A Swedish Hospital clinical expert will complete an assessment and may recommend COVID-19 testing.  


An appointment time is required and will be assigned to you following your phone assessment. 

Our testing tent is open to all community members with one or more COVID-19 related symptoms, with or without insurance. You do not need to have a physician's order.

Qualifying patients must have one or more of the following symptoms.

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Congestion
  • Sore Throat
  • Runny Nose
  • Shortness of Breath
  • Loss or Decrease of Smell or Taste
  • Muscle Aches With Flu-Like Symptoms
  • Loss of Appetite
  • Chills or Shaking Chills
  • Headache
  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea or Other Gastrointestinal Symptoms
The purpose of drive-through is purely to test for COVID19. Drive-through testing does not replace the need for professional evaluation of symptoms. Please continue to discuss symptoms with primary care provider for further management or contact Swedish to establish care with a new primary care provider.

If your symptoms are worsening or you think you need emergency services, call 9-1-1 immediately.


On the Day of Your Appointment

Qualified patients will need an appointment time and to provide photo identification to get a test.

Pedestrians with appointments may also begin at this entrance. 

Hours of operation:

Monday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Wednesday: 9 a.m. to noon
Thursday: 9 a.m. to noon
Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday: 9 a.m. to noon 

Testing Cost

Testing at Swedish Hospital will come at no cost to patients. Uninsured will be offered free testing and follow up care will be managed through our financial assistance and charity program.


FAQs for Those Already Tested via the Testing Tent

If you have used this service, below are some FAQs. 

How Long Will It Take to Get My Results?

Testing results will be available in two to five days. Please do not call for results. 

How Will I Learn My Results?

Your primary care provider or a Swedish Hospital provider will call you with your results.  

What Happens if I feel Worse?

Call your primary care provider and they will direct you as to what to do next. If your symptoms are severe, please call 911.

What Should I Do to Help Myself?

Regardless of whether your test comes back positive or negative, please quarantine yourself for a total of 14 days while wearing a surgical mark (or bandana) as often as possible. Get lots of rest, keep hydrated, wash your hands frequently and avoid public areas. Take acetaminophen for fevers (which is a temperature above 100.3 degree Fahrenheit).  

How much will it cost to get tested for COVID-19?

Testing at Swedish Hospital will come at no cost to patients. Uninsured will be offered free testing and follow up care will be managed through our financial assistance and charity program. Those who are insured will not be responsible for any out-of-pocket costs related to being tested for COVID-19.
