Story-Igniter Volunteer
At Swedish Hospital, we have patients with amazing stories and are looking for writers who want to help bring them to life! We pride ourselves on building human kindness through our communication and interactions. After you interview the patient, you will spend time in the volunteer office crafting your story which will then be given or mailed to the patient as a memory of the time you spent with them.
Commitment
The ideal candidate is available to come in when the Volunteer Department has identified a patient who is willing to share their story. We would work with you to schedule a time to visit the patient room. Our goal is to collect as many great stories as we can about our amazing community.
Unique Requirements
An example of a writing piece you have completed either personally or professionally.
Visual Arts Volunteer
As a graphic designer/copywriter volunteer you will help with projects that focus on new marketing initiatives or materials that help our patients understand their health care information. This position would be ideal for an individual who is currently in a graphic design/copy writer program and wants to practice their skills.
Commitment
Schedule is flexible.
Unique Requirements
Volunteers must bring some examples of their previous projects to the interview. Swedish Hospital uses CANVA and Adobe VIP software.
Patient Advisor Volunteer Role
Do you have a passion for health care? Maybe you have been a patient at hospital recently? This
volunteer position would collaborate with our patient experience department to bring the patient’s voice to
organizational improvement projects. We might ask volunteer advisers to assess how we deliver our service standards to our patients or how can we improve in certain service areas to better meet patient expectations. We are better together!
Commitment
This volunteer role would be a project by project commitment. This is a great position for volunteers
who can’t give a week to week commitment but are available on a monthly basis.
Unique Requirements
Due to the nature of the work, we ask that these volunteers are 18 years old or older.
