Swedish Covenant Hospital is pleased to announce that Dr. Bruce McNulty has accepted the role of Vice President/Chief Medical Officer. Dr. McNulty was selected following a rigorous interview process that included the hospital’s executive team and members of the medical staff.
“I believe we have chosen an outstanding individual as our next Vice President/Chief Medical Officer and I look forward to further partnering with Bruce and all of our physicians and providers to continue to focus on the overall patient experience and providing the best possible patient outcomes,” said Anthony Guaccio, President and CEO of Swedish Covenant Hospital.
Since joining Swedish Covenant Hospital in 2001, Dr. McNulty has served in many leadership roles demonstrating his knowledge and commitment to making the hospital a better place for the community, physicians and employees. These roles have included Chairman of Emergency Medicine, President of Swedish Emergency Associates and Board Member for Swedish Covenant Hospital.

In addition to partnering with the community, Dr. McNulty looks forward to the challenge of navigating potential changes expected in the health care industry. “I look forward to being a constant advocate and example for our medical staff as we steer the ever-changing health care environment while focusing on serving our community by providing the most advanced treatments using evidence-based care.”
Prior to joining Swedish Covenant Hospital, Dr. McNulty held positions as the Chairman of Emergency Department at Ravenswood Hospital and Medical Director for Neurological & Orthopedic Institute of Chicago. He received his B.S. from the University of Connecticut and his M.D. from Georgetown University.
In addition to his new role as Chief Medical Officer, Dr. McNulty will be responsible for Medical Education and Medical Informatics at Swedish Covenant Hospital.
