Chicago, IL – (August 2015) Swedish Covenant Hospital’s Cardiology Department is a 2015 recipient of the National Cardiovascular Data Registry’s ACTION Registry-- Platinum Performance Award. The award recognizes Swedish Covenant Hospital’s commitment to meeting the highest standards of cardiac care, and celebrates the success of the hospital’s cardiology team in achieving these nationally recognized “platinum” standards.
To receive the Platinum Performance Award, Swedish Covenant Hospital’s cardiac heart services department had to sustain a 90 percent or better composite score on a set of best-practice performance measures used in treating heart attack patients for eight consecutive quarters, or two years.
“We are honored to earn the Platinum Performance Award for exceeding the highest standards of cardiac care,” says Dr. Sung Sup Kim, who specializes in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology at Swedish Covenant Hospital. “Our cardiac care team works to exceed the highest standards of care and this national recognition further illustrates our commitment to providing excellent care to our patients and the community.”
The Cardiovascular Services program at Swedish Covenant Hospital offers comprehensive evaluation, the best available treatments and distinguished rehabilitation programs all in one location. It provides compassionate care, coupled with advanced technology, to treat a range of heart and vascular conditions.
