Swedish Covenant Hospital’s recent Summer Social drew more than 3,000 visitors and helped promote safety by distributing 1,000 free bike helmets and 1,200 reusable water bottles to the community.
The first ever event kicked off the summer biking season and featured music, entertainment and food. And to promote bike safety, Swedish Covenant Hospital staff and volunteers passed out free bike helmets while Chicago Bike Ambassadors conducted helmet fittings. Plus, an array of community partners helped promote summer health and safety at the festival.
“We are extremely pleased to have such a great turnout for this fun family event to improve the safety of children and adults who bike throughout our community,” said Anthony Guaccio, President and CEO of Swedish Covenant Hospital. “We are happy to help spread the word about the importance of bike safety and wearing helmets to prevent injuries. We want all cyclists to have a safe summer.”
