CHICAGO – Just hours after assuming his positon as President and CEO of Swedish Covenant Hospital, Anthony Guaccio embarked on a mission to visit 30 floors of the hospital in as many days.
“These visits have allowed me to introduce myself or reintroduce myself and thank our excellent providers, nurses, staff members and volunteers, many of whom I have gotten to know during my 20 years at the hospital,” said Guaccio. “I have been gathering feedback from our staff and meeting with patients to learn firsthand how we can best care for them here and as they return home.”
As the new President and CEO, Anthony serves alongside the hospital’s more than 2,500 employees. “As I have stated many times before, I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead this fine institution and its excellent staff,” he said. “I am excited for all of us to work together to care for our patients and our community.”
Guaccio has held various leadership positions during his more than 20 years at Swedish Covenant Hospital, including serving as COO for the past decade. As COO, Guaccio ensured that the day-to-day business operations of the hospital ran smoothly and efficiently, collaborated closely with the executive leadership team and the board of directors and helped build a highly motivated, results-oriented team to care for patients.
As CEO, Guaccio will focus on operations, technology and physician, employee and community relations. He values the strong sense of “family” at the hospital and believes that every person, employee, volunteer and physician plays an equally important role in delivering high-quality and inspired health care to the community.
