Meet Your Hyperbaric Specialists at Swedish Covenant Hospital
HBO therapy at SCH is directed by Dr. Claude Zanetti, an internal medicine physician specializing in pulmonary and critical care medicine. Dr. Zanetti is also board certified in undersea and hyperbaric medicine. He attended medical school at Wayne State University in Michigan and completed training in hyperbaric pulmonary critical care medicine at the University of Michigan. Dr. Zanetti’s expertise is sought by many institutions in the Chicago area and in other states as well. He often teaches HBO to medical students and residents at Swedish Covenant Hospital and lectures on the topic.
Dr. Zanetti works closely with Debbie Garcia, the lead HBO technician, who has been providing HBO treatment since 1984. Debbie is a registered respiratory therapist, with specialty training in HBO. The Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society and the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine recognize Debbie as a valued member in good standing. This recognition is awarded to professionals who exhibit the knowledge to provide expert medical care.
Dr. Zanetti and Debbie work closely with referring physicians and the Wound Care team at Swedish Covenant Hospital, including advanced practice and certified wound care nurses, surgeons, podiatrists and internal medicine physicians.
Swedish Covenant Hospital is recognized by the Divers Alert Network as a resource center for HBO treatment.
