U.S. News & World Report released its 2017-18 Best Nursing Homes ranking
which evaluated all 724 facilities in Illinois. Swedish Covenant Hospital’s Nursing Home was one of only 76 nursing homes included in the Top Performing category. Only ten percent of homes statewide meet the threshold.
According to the report: “Swedish Covenant Hospital’s Nursing Home in Chicago, IL, is rated 5.0 stars overall (out of 5 stars). It is a small facility with 46 beds and has nonprofit, church ownership. Swedish Covenant Hospital is not part of a continuing care retirement community. It participates in Medicare.”
Swedish Covenant Hospital’s Nursing Home functions as a short stay facility, with a shorter average length of stay than traditional nursing homes. The overall Top Performing ranking for the facility is based on ratings in several key areas, including health inspections, nurse staffing and measures of medical quality of care. “We are honored to again receive this important recognition,” said Anthony Guaccio, President and CEO of Swedish Covenant Hospital. “It’s a testament to our entire Nursing Home team which works very hard to serve its residents.”
“I am extremely proud to work with a dedicated team of nurses, assistants, and therapists,” said Sarah Stadler, MSN, RN. “It is very rewarding to see residents make such significant gains during their short-stay with us and be able to move forward following their rehabilitation. We are dedicated to helping residents become strong and capable before transitioning to their next level of care.”
