Osteopathic Internal Medicine Residency
The internal medicine residency program has been granted initial accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Residency training is an exciting and challenging phase of the education of physicians, when clinical and professional skills are developed and tested. Making a decision on where to conduct your graduate medical education is also challenging. At Swedish Covenant Hospital we make every effort to inform candidates about our program and are available to answer your questions. You will find that we are a collaborative organization that values the contributions of physicians at all levels.

The Internal Medicine Residents participate and attend a wide variety of monthly conferences
. These include Ambulatory Care Conference, Clinical Pathology Conference, and Morbidity and Mortality Conference. Beyond monthly conferences and morning reports, residents participate in various training activities as well as daily didactics in general medicine such as teaching rounds, management rounds, ambulatory care and their primary care experience.
Erie Foster Avenue Health Center
Internal Medicine Residents spend one half day a week in the center. In year one, residents inherit a panel of patients from a graduating senior. New patients are also gained through Emergency Room follow-ups, as well as those admitted to the Inpatient Teaching Services. As the resident continues throughout training, a continuity panel is created for a comprehensive ambulatory experience.
