History of Swedish Covenant Hospital
Swedish Covenant Hospital was founded in 1886. The hospital serves the medical needs of Chicago's north and northwest sides, providing emergency services, a full range of inpatient and outpatient medical services, home care, family medicine, occupational health, wellness/fitness programs and health education for the community.
Our 334-bed nonprofit medical center was founded by the Evangelical Covenant Church. Swedish Covenant Hospital's mission emphasizes care for the whole person's needs—biological, psychological, social and spiritual. The hospital is known for its high-quality nursing, convenient location and personal atmosphere. More than 550 primary care and specialist physicians on staff, 2,200 employees and 250 volunteers are committed to serving your health care needs.
