Upon admission to the hospital, you will receive a copy of our Patient Handbook, which contains this and other information about your stay.
Cleaning
Your room is cleaned by the hospital Environmental Services personnel on a daily basis.
Infection Control
For the protection of our patients and employees, standard safety precautions are followed. This means that our employees may be wearing gloves, masks, gowns or protective eye gear while caring for you. These safety measures are followed any time there is a possibity of exposing contagions.
Internet and Telephone
For patients who have laptops, Wireless Internet is available from any patient room. For your convenience, you can make free local calls from your room. Any calls placed outside of our local calling area will require the use of a calling card. TTY and auxiliary devices for the hearing impaired are also available. Swedish Covenant Hospital is not responsible for any valuables - including personal computer equipment - brought to the hospital.
Linen
Your caregiver provides a clean washcloth, towel, gown and pillowcase on a daily basis. Other linens are changed as needed.
Meals and Dietitian Services
Your doctor prescribes your diet to meet your individual health needs. If you are on a modified diet while a patient in the hospital, a registered dietician is available to provide nutrition counseling at no charge. International menus, including Korean and Hispanic foods, are also available. Patients may also receive certain diet selections for religious purposes (Kosher or Halal).
Security
Swedish Covenant Hospital is dedicated to providing a safe and secure environment for all who enter who facility. All Swedish Covenant Hospital employees wear picture identification badges while on duty. Also, Swedish Covenant Hospital has a closed-circuit monitoring system that records activities in key areas of the hospital and parking facility. Entrances to the hospital, other than the Emergency Department entrance, are locked at 8 p.m. and reopened at 5:30 a.m. (Galter Medical Pavilion) and 6:30 a.m. (Anderson Pavilion).

Swedish Covenant Hospital is committed to serving patients with disabilities. Smoking
Because we care for your health, Swedish Covenant Hospital maintains a smoke-free environment. Thank you for not smoking.
Television
Swedish Covenant Hospital offers a 24-hour interactive TV system, which includes free basic TV and a library of spiritual and health programs. A premium TV package is available for a small daily fee.
Visiting Guidelines
Visits from family and friends are welcome and an important part of the recovery process. Visitors are requested to stop at the Information Desk in the hospital lobby to obtain a visitor pass. Two visitors, ages 6 and over, may be in the patient room at a time.
Visiting Hours
Our visiting hours are designed to allow family members and friends to visit their loved ones at times that will protect all patients from disruption. Visiting Hours are:
- Patient Units, Intensive Care Unit, Family Birthing Center and Mother/Baby Unit: 10 am - 9 pm, every day
- Psychiatric Unit: Mondays-Fridays, 6 pm - 8 pm
Visitation is allowed according to the patient's needs and program activities.)
