The NorthShore Neurological Institute's neurologists and neurological surgeons are nationally recognized by their peers for their outstanding clinical skills, expertise and innovative approaches to surgical and non-surgical spinal care. In addition to patient treatment they have been extensively involved with the development and teaching of new, innovative procedures.

Laich, Daniel 250x250Daniel T. Laich, D.O., is a neurological surgeon and the Chief of Neurological Surgery with nearly twenty-five years of experience. He specializes in non-surgical, minimally invasive surgical (MIS), endoscopic and major reconstructive spine treatments. His pioneering work has helped gain approval for MIS techniques in the United States. He has ongoing interest in motion preservation technologies, including artificial disk replacement and posterior motion preserving instrumentation, and regenerative technologies. Dr. Laich continues to expand his national and international academic, instructional and surgical efforts with interest in closed head injury, nutrition and alternative therapies.

Johnson, Andrew250x250Andrew Johnson, M.D., is a neurological surgeon with extensive experience in the treatment of vascular diseases, including stroke. He completed his neurosurgical training and endovascular fellowship at Rush Medical Center. He is trained in endoscopic intracranial surgery, tumor surgery, spinal surgery and movement disorder treatments for conditions such as seizure and Parkinson’s.
 

Bailes, JulianJulian E. Bailes, Jr., M.D., is a neurological surgeon with more than 31 years of experience. His clinical interests include brain tumors, aneurysm, arterio-venous malformations (AVM), astrocytoma, brain bleed, cervical/lumbar disc disease, glioblastoma, glioma, neiplasm, spinal cord tumors, subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) and subdural hematoma (SDH).
 

Park Danny croppedDanny Park, M.D., is a neurologist treating a broad spectrum of neurological 
diseases with special interest in closed head injuries, electrophysiology, headaches, stroke, movement disorders and multiple sclerosis. In addition, he has clinical interest in the role of functional medicine in treating neurological patients. 


Harrison, ColleenColleen Harrison, PA-C, is a graduate of Midwestern University with almost ten years of experience. Her primary clinical interest in stroke is a result of academic interests and many years of practice in the northwest suburbs at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. Alongside Drs. Glassenberg and Park, she provides excellent neurology patient care with compassion and expertise.
