Swedish Covenant Hospital’s Heart and Lung Center

Opened in late 2014, the Heart and Lung Center is an outpatient diagnostic testing center for heart and lung conditions. Our comfortable, patient-friendly environment includes spacious exam rooms and special amenities like a dedicated waiting room for nuclear test patients equipped with individual TVs and earbuds. If your test or screening results show you are at risk for complications, you can talk with one of our experts or receive additional testing right away.

Heart and Lung Waiting Room

Highlights of the Heart and Lung Center include:

  • Expertise: Performing thousands of tests each year, our physicians, nurses and technicians are experienced in accurately performing and interpreting a wide range of cardiovascular studies.
  • Easy access: Patients are able to schedule tests within a few days or on the same day in urgent cases.
  • Convenience: We make it easy to get the care you need by offering the full range of diagnostic tests in one convenient location. If you need more than one test, we coordinate scheduling so you can get them all on the same day.
  • Comfort: We built the Heart and Lung Center with your comfort in mind. Testing rooms are spacious and light-filled. We also offer comfortable offices where you and any accompanying friends or family members can discuss your test with one of our experts.
As part of our commitment to delivering comprehensive cardiovascular care, we also offer services to keep you healthy and avoid complications, including:

  • Heart screenings to detect heart disease risk factors and help you avoid having a heart attack or other health problems before you feel symptoms.
  • A Pacemaker and Defibrillator Clinic where we deliver regular follow-up care for patients with pacemakers and defibrillators.

Pacemaker and Defibrillator Clinic at Swedish Covenant Hospital

With a team of specially trained nurses, our Pacemaker and Defibrillator Clinic helps patients with pacemakers and internal cardiac defibrillators (ICDs) stay healthy and avoid complications.

Services available through the Pacemaker and Defibrillator Clinic include:

  • Follow-up care for patients with newly implanted devices. Within two weeks of your procedure, we make sure your incision is healing properly and check your device’s settings.
  • Ongoing care for patients with existing devices every three to six months. During these visits, we download information from your device, check the battery and adjust settings, if necessary. We can perform some tests over the phone, so you may not even need to visit the clinic.
  • Personalized support. If you have questions about your device or need help between appointments, just call us. We’re always happy to help.

Available to all patients with existing or newly implanted devices, the Pacemaker and Defibrillator Clinic is open on Mondays from 8 a.m. to noon and is located on the third floor of the Main Building in the Heart and Lung Center (Directions & Campus Map).
