Robotically-assisted surgery allows robotically trained SCH surgeons on staff to operate more precisely, efficiently and safely on our patients. In brief, the robot translates the surgeon's natural hand movements on the instrument controls into corresponding micro-movements of instruments positioned inside the patient through small incisions. These small incisions and precise movements mean better outcomes for patients through reductions in trauma, blood loss, risk of infection, post-operative pain and average length of stay.
