MRI Technology

For patients who fear small spaces, the MRI test — where patient lies flat in an enclosed body-length chamber — can be one of the most daunting. That's not to mention the time MRI tests can take: sometimes as long as an hour.

Thanks to new technology available at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, however, the MRI just got a little bit easier. Now the MRI's bore, or machine's enclosed chamber, is shorter and less threatening, allowing many patients to rest easier during the test. And tests can take half as long, providing a more relaxing experience.

Physicians will be happy to know that the MRI is not only more comfortable for patients, it also delivers more powerful results. With a state-of-the-art 1.5 tesla scanner, the MRI can deliver high-quality imaging and take advantage of the latest techniques for breast imaging, cardiac imaging, cholangiography, stroke analysis, peripheral and neuroangiography.

Every radiologist at Swedish Covenant Hospital is board certified in their subspecialties; that means you get professional results and expert advice every time.
