Pediatric Emergency Care

Swedish Covenant Hospital’s Emergency Department is lead by a team of board-certified emergency medicine physicians with more than 50 years of combined experience and training in pediatric care. These physicians, along with our expert team of registered nurses and skilled technicians designed Pediatric Fast Track to provide the best care possible to children with urgent care needs.

We are pleased to offer families access to our Pediatric Fast Track, a program which ensures that children arriving in the ED with bumps, bruises, breaks, fevers, dehydration and other urgent ailments and injuries are treated faster by staff specializing in pediatric care.

  • Staffed by pediatric experts including our board-certified emergency medicine physicians, nurse practitioners and hospitalists from Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago
  • Features a separate waiting area for families and a kids play area
  • Allows parents or guardians to be by the patient’s side throughout his or her ED visit
  • Ensures that children are treated and sent home, or admitted into the hospital, faster

The Fast Track is open from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. seven days a week. During other hours, children will go through the main ED waiting area and be treated by expert emergency medicine physicians on hand.
