Our volunteers are active in numerous departments throughout the hospital. We are extremely proud of our volunteers who donate their time and energy to make patients and families feel as cared for as possible. Volunteering is a rewarding experience for patients and volunteers alike. Here is what a few of them are saying about volunteering at Swedish Covenant Hospital:
Marilyn Tobias - Nursing Education, ICU Volunteer
"I like being a part of compassion. As a former patient of Swedish Covenant Hospital, I became a volunteer as a way to give something back to the people who helped me. I feel all the nursing staff here are not only competent but caring and loving people."
Richard Tran - Patient Care, AP Volunteer
"I became a volunteer not only to earn service learning hours for high school, but because I believe volunteering is a great opportunity that will personally benefit me in the future."
Bonnie Tracz - Gift Shop Volunteer
Bonnie Tracz, a former gift shop chain owner, has always enjoyed connecting with other people. "Volunteering in the gift shop has rekindled much of my past experiences. I enjoy arranging displays and interacting with my co-workers and customers, so this is a perfect fit for me."
Jan Dela Cruz - Healing Environment (book and magazine cart)
"I love helping others recovering from sickness. I feel like I am contributing to part of the community."
